Atelier Joy began in an apartment in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It currently operates out of an old Victorian in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The owner/designer, Joy Olson, started sewing at the age of 5, when her mother helped her make a drawstring purse out of a beautiful butterfly-print cotton. Joy went on to study couture techniques in the fashion design program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Over the years, she’s lived in Paris, New York, and San Francisco, and is constantly inspired by the style of these cities and their citizens.
All Atelier Joy designs utilize couture techniques and are inspired by the beautiful Parisian lifestyle. All tutorials include step-by-step instructions and photos to make your project a beautiful success.
